While hiking the AT in 2011 I was introduced to this filter system and knew right away this was the one for me. After using this filter for just a short time I have put my old filter system into storage and only pack this device. Many other hikers swear by chemical treatments to make their trail water safe and sterile but sterile frog sperm is still frog sperm and I never want to consume frog sperm or and other foreign items in the water, even if the items are sterile. Scoop up water from the lake, carry it to your camp area and within 2 minutes, have enough water (4L) to cook dinner and fill you water bottles, bladder or whatever. Lighter than a steripen with the batteries in it. Only issue is it takes practice to get the zip lock seam closed completely. Great product. Why is it they won't ship Internationally for 90% of the stuff they sell? What's worse is they recommend sfuff to me, then when I try to buy it they say no!??!Back to the product, does what it says and way easier than hand pump type filters like my first one where you got a tiny spirt per pump... this is much easier, just fill, hang and forget. |
