However, when I set it up I was amazed at how roomy the tent actually is. I can stand straight up and walk from door to door without bending or stooping (it has two doors). I'm 74 years old, and that sure does relieve my old bones a bit.The tent is touted for six persons. I think that may be a bit crowded, but four people can manage quite well. There are only two of us, so this tent seems almost like a hotel room. My wife loves the two-door concept, and I am taken by the airiness of the design. The tent itself is just about all mesh which lets in a nice cool breeze if it is pitched under a shade tree during the day...a little too warm out in the open sunlight. Appears to be completely waterproof. Lots of headroom inside without too much wasted space. Fits two full-sized air mattresses with plenty of room for gear. Great value for the price.My only complaint is I wish it had the "tarp-like" floor in it. The floor is supposed to be waterproof, but I worry about rocks/sticks gouging holes in the floor. Definitely use a tarp or tent-saver under the tent when setting up. It rained all weekend but we stayed dry. It BLEW (up to 50 mph gusts) and we still remained dry and the tent withstood it all. Our only complaint is that the "vestibule" really isn't much. A place to put your shoes and that's about it. Our old tent had a vestibule big enough that when it was raining, you could still go in and out w/o getting wet inside. Not so with this one, unfortunately. Every time you open the door, it gets the inside of the tent a little wet; so if you're looking for a large vestibule, this isn't it. That being said, very impressed so far with everything else. Easy to put up. I could put it up myself w/o my husband's help. And we LOVE being able to stand up in it. Not just in one spot either. All in all, great tent. Made well. Withstood some major wind and rain. Good price too. |
